How to uncensor Manhunt 2 for your Wii. I take zero responsibility for any destruction to your Wii. This is to be used with legal backups only, yadda yadda yadda, fuck censorship. Summary: This game sucks as it comes. I've played it. The executions are censored so heavily that you can't even see what's going on. A key mechanic of this game is the multi-layer killing method that can be employed by holding in the A button for longer for a more gruesome kill. The censorship, however, completely destroys this, effectively making it so that you might as well just do the quickest possible execution and move on. Without this feature, Manhunt is absolutely boring. Thus, I looked for a way to resolve this issue, and succeeded, thanks to the methods employed by PS2 players to accomplish the same thing.
What it will do:
This hack will remove the color and blur filters from the execution scenes, so that you can see the full violence displayed on screen for each execution. It will also familiarize you with the use of Wiiscrubber (A really nice program), and enable you to make further edits to this and other games using the same methods by changing more of the levelSetup.ini (or other files in different games, maybe even texture-swaps if you do it right and are interested).
Tools required:
1) A hacked or modded Wii, capable of playing backups. See: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Setting_up_your_Wii_for_Homebrew for instructions on how to install the homebrew channel if you have not done so already.
2) A Manhunt 2 iso.
3) Wiiscrubber Final, Link: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=3012 with this key.bin in the folder you installed it to.
4) This levelSetup.ini that I have created following steps for a tutorial on how to uncensor this game on the PS2.
How To:
1) Install Wiiscrubber from the link above, and copy the key.bin above into the folder you install it to.
2) Run WiiScrubber.
3) Open your Manhunt 2 iso with WiiScrubber after creating a backup of it in case you ever want the censored version again (you won't).
4) Expand PARTITION 2: DATA
5) Expand global
6) Scroll down to "levelSetup.ini" and right click on it.
7) Click "Replace" from the context menu, and choose the levelSetup.ini that I linked to above.
8) Close Wiiscrubber (it has already modified your ISO)
9) Burn your new copy of Manhunt 2, uncut, courtesy of JudgeX.
